Liv Tyler:

Liv was born on July 1st, 1977 in NewYork, under the name of Liv Rundgren.  Her mother is Bebe Buell, who at the time was dating a rock star by the name of Todd Rundgren.

Soon after Liv was born, Bebe broke up with Todd, and moved with Liv up to Portland, Maine.  Liv loved to perform as a child.  She would wear her mothers clothes and show off around her family and friends.

As Liv got older, she started to see a lot more of Steven Tyler, the lead singer of the band Aerosmith.  It wasn't until she had reached the age of 9 years old when at an Aerosmith concert, she discovered the truth behind the matter.

At the concert, Liv spotted a girl that looked remarkably like her.  Liv knew who the girl was, it was Mia, Steven Tyler's daughter.  It was then she knew that Mia was her sister, and Steven her father.  She later asked her mom for the truth--"I turned to my mom and said, 'He's my father, isn't he ?', and we went out under a tree and talked and cried for two hours."

Liv finally changed her last name to Tyler at the age of twelve.

So Life Begins...

Liv moved back to NewYork with her mom at the age of 14.  It was then, that a family friend of theirs, model Paulina Porizkova, noticed Liv's beautiful features, and convinced her to get into modeling.

She was instantly a hit, and started to appear on the cover of magazines.

But it wasn't really until 1994, when Liv was in the music video "Crazy" for her father's band Aerosmith, that she started to get noticed.
It was also this year that Liv starred in her first two movies,  Silent Fall ('94), and Heavy ('95).

Liv was now into acting, but she still hadn't quite gotten famous.  When she was seventeen she filmed a 3rd movie, Empire Records ('95).  But the movie that really was to be considered her "big break" was the film Stealing Beauty ('96).  She was the highlight actress at that years Cannes Film Festival, and her pictures were on many billboards.

Liv then starred in That Thing You Do ('96) with Tom Hanks, and Armageddon ('98) with Ben Affleck and Bruce Willis.

Liv has stated that she prefers to chose roles of smaller movies that focus more on quality and enjoyment, than the larger more productive movies.  Which is funny, because her role of Arwen in The Lord Of The Rings trilogy has made her the most famous yet.

Quotes...

About Chosing Her Roles:

"I have great patience and Im willing to wait until that [special] thing comes along. For me, its all about the director. Its not about it being a vehicle for me, or some big part or the movie has to be a hit. Its not about that kind of stuff. Sometimes Ill find a story I really like or a script I really like and the director might not be attached yet or maybe I wont think the directors really right, and so I wont do it. I am a slave to the director in a lot of senses. A lot of it is me, Im the one embodying the character, but I want to be able to trust and be guided by genius, nothing less than that."

Her Outlook On Life:

"Life excites me. I'm not talking about appearing in movies or doing interviews, but just little, normal, everyday things. Getting out of bed. Getting dressed. Making food. I find it all exciting, you know ?"

How She Feels About Acting:

"It's terrifying. It's so scary, because you get used to being around the crew and being friendly with everyone and then suddenly, at a certain point, everything switches and you're the one standing behind the lights and nobody's going to help you. And that can be really difficult sometimes."
